The church is located on the site of John Wesley's conversion at Aldersgate Street where on 24 May 1738 he heard someone reading from the preface to Luther's commentary on the book of Romans and he felt his 'heart strangely warmed.' He wrote in his journal,
In the evening I went very unwillingly to a society in Aldersgate Street, where one was reading Luther's preface to the Epistle to the Romans. About a quarter before nine, while the leader was describing the change which God works in the heart through faith in Christ, I felt my heart strangely warmed. I felt I did trust in Christ alone for salvation; and an assurance was given me that He had taken away my sins, even mine, and saved me from the law of sin and death.

Hey Ug...
Not only did they flip the 2 messages but they misspelled "Tweeddale" to boot! I thought one of the great things about being in Scotland was being in a country where they know our name, could spell it right and pronounce it right!!! LOL!
OH!! Did you take a 'Voice and Diction' class as Carey or RTS??? What public speaking/preaching classes did you take. (Chalk the question up to the theatre instructor in me)
Hope you have a good visit with Moo and Dad. I'm sure I'll hear all about it later.
Love you...Cathy
